State</title></head><body>
<div>Dear Colleagues and friends of QL:</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Some of you (gasp: all of you?) have received a junk message, as
I have been trying to update the qr-list after its move to a new
server and protocol at Trinity.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>THIS MESSAGE HOWEVER, IS THE REAL THING!</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Eileen Phillips at Keene State has sent me the followiing
preliminary announcement of our<font color="#FF0000"> 14th
annual meeting</font>. It sounds like a great program - I hope
I'll see lots of you there.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Matt Cote from Bates and Eric Gaze from Bowdoin will be the
featured speakers at the morning session of the 14th NECQL meeting on
April 17th at Keene State College. They will co-present about
their collaborative project on effective ways to teach quantitative
reasoning and assess student progress. Keene State College QL
faculty members will then have a panel discussion during the afternoon
session about their journey creating and assessing their Quantitative
Literacy course for first year students.</div>
<div> </div>
<div><br></div>
<div><br></div>
<div>I will send a second message tomorrow detailing how to send
messages to the list, unsubscribe, etc.</div>
<div><br></div>
<div>Best wishes for the semester and an early spring,</div>
<div><br></div>
<div><br></div>
