The intention is a dedicated time for directors of Q-centers to get to know each other, discuss common challenges, and learn from each others' programs - sound familiar? :) They've never done this before, so the intention is also to make a start down a new path. I'm excited because while NNN often connects me to like-minded people and introduces me to new teaching resources, there has not been a focus on support centers despite our growing presence on college campuses and the wellspring of knowledge and innovation to be found in our staff (you!). I am also excited about helping NNN in a direction that could diversify its participants, both personally and professionally. Luke Tunstall (Trinity U) is organizing the event, and I'm helping host along with Eric Gaze (Bowdoin) and Özlem Elgün (DePaul). It will take place on Zoom on Saturday 02/27 from 1:15-3:15 (CST). Registration for the 2-day slate is very affordable ($100), although I know many of your travel budgets were entirely nixed this year. If you are able to scare up the funds, many of the talks are focused on QR and social justice, and other "non-traditional" intersections for teaching and learning QR and statistical literacy. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them or point you to the right person. I hope to see some of you there! (Also, warm welcome to David and Fatima from Barnard! They would love to get to know folks and are excited to connect more with the group.) -- Lin Winton, Ph.D. | Director, Quantitative Resource Center Lecturer in Biology | Carleton College (she/her/hers) schedule a meeting with me [https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&id=1fx6dielnqgQIU1cJB0ex_I7KbfRqdN_e&revid=0B_IQb3gTPBy0dXJ0MnBteFFCY0tZK0JmUU1aUTBHOWhhVTRzPQ] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
